Thomas the Train Day Trip

We bit the bullet and spent $18/ticket to ride Thomas the Train in OKC. The ride was 20 min. long. We went backwards at about 5 mph for 10 min and then forwards for 10... it was real exciting ;)
I think I'll rate this adventure a 2 out of 10.
Oh well, it was still quality time with the fam.

Here comes Thomas. I think I see him!

Waiting in line to board.

What beautiful scenery.

At least we bought tickets in the air-conditioned dining car.

Let's get out of here, I'm hungry.

Will work for donuts

Well, I had lunch with a good friend yesterday.... and I've been thinking about one of our conversation pieces ever since. The "poor pitiful me" syndrome. Admit it. We've all had those moments or even days that we just feel sorry for ourselves. But that self-destructing attitude should never continue on for weeks! Come on, snap out of it people! Life is not easy, it's Work. But really, anything worth doing is work. It is work that gives us a since of accomplishment and self-worth. Complaining gets us nowhere.
On a lighter, more yummier note...
We had donuts this morning
.

Leah thought the ha
t was pretty tasty.

Tummy time

Scoot, crawl, shimmy... just move baby!
(Leah has mastered the roll, but that's about it so far.)

Casa Bonita

Do you remember waiting in line as a child, being sooo excited to pick out which color napkin roll you wanted and then carry cheese enchilladas to the cave? I do! Casa Bonita was a real treat back then. And even though it seemed smaller and a little less glamorous than I remembered it to be as a kid, Ella and Devon thought it was super neat! We ate in the cave, raised the flag (a few too many times!), watched the magic show and then played in the game area..... Bobo bought a load tokens :) And before leaving, they visited the Treasure Room for a prize. (I swear there used to be a real Gypsy in there!) What fun!~

Annoyed

I was annoyed yesterday. Just annoyed! The morning started with a little boy's BIG voice. Devon has NO volume control. His typical phrases began.... "I want to... I had to.... I, I , I!" I was thankful it was preschool day. I dropped them off and took a breath. Ahhhh.... 5 hours of freedom, just me and Leah. A quick cardio routine at the gym (yes, I joined the Y to counteract my donut addiction) and then headed home to attack the laundry, dishes, and bathrooms. Uhggg..... not exactly freedom. Oh, well.... duty calls. I sat down to my lunch and the phone rang.... "This is Tina from preschool and Ella has a tummy ache. Can you come pick her up?" Uhggg... So I softly transfered my peaceful napping baby girl into the car-seat and headed down to the preschool. I loaded up Devon and then loaded up my bubbly, definitely NOT sick daughter. "Sick kids have to go to bed." After making her stay in bed for an hour, we had a talk. She (and I) decided preschool is much more fun than pretending to be sick and coming home. We went to the neighborhood park later in the day and enjoyed the cool fall weather. Ahhh... even though I get annoyed at my children I'd rather be living MY life than any other. AND I'm sure they get annoyed at ME sometimes too!

Ainslie's Party

A fabulous "Fancy Nancy" birthday party took place Saturday nite at the Lane house. It was a "posh" event with swirly cheese crackers, foo-foo flamingo drinks, decadent red velvet cake, and lots and lots of feathered, sequined, boa covered hats!!!

Even fancy sneezes!

My favorite email of all-time

There are times when kids
draw something and you just have to say... “Wow, tell me about your
picture,” because you have no clue what it is...This one you
know right away...Enjoy!

OF COURSE THEY'RE SCISSORS

QUOTE FROM THE MOM:

THIS IS MY KINDERGARTNER'S ARTISTIC RENDERING OF A PAIR OF SCISSORS. I WONDER

WHAT HIS TEACHER THOUGHT.

I ALLOWED MYSELF JUST A SMALL SMIRK WHEN I SAW IT.

I WAITED UNTIL HE WAS OUT OF THE ROOM UNTIL I STARTED CRYING FROM LAUGHING SO
HARD.

WELL, OF COURSE THEY'RE SCISSORS.

IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITH A SMALL CHILD OR IF YOU ARE A TEACHER YOU WILL LOVE
THIS!

AS YOU ALL KNOW I WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROUDLY DISPLAY THIS ON

MY REFRIGERATOR FOR A LENGTH OF TIME .. ...
