Weekend

My kids LOVE to ride their bicycles. Let me rephrase... My kids love to ride their bicycles FAST! Just ask anyone that's seen Devon take off on his "Huffy Rocket." And as for Ella, her training wheels are down to the plastic and she's "skidded" so many times that her back tire finally wore a hole in it!

So Saturday it was time for 1) a new bike for Ella and 2) a helmet for "Rocket" man.
I figured the new bike would take center stage, but I'm afraid the black BMX helmet is the biggest hit of the weekend! He even wanted to wear his helmet to church this morning. And, no, we didn't let him. :)

Enjoying breakfast wearing his helmet

Mowing the lawn wearing his helmet

In other weekend news, I asked my husband to trim the large shrub in our front yard. His version of a trim looks more like a french poodle shearing.
Naked limbs with a little "fluff" of leaves at the top. "What was he thinking?"

I guess now we ALL know how much he appreciates a well-groomed bush ;)

18 hours in Branson

Branson was short lived this year. 18 total hours. Yep, that's it. BUT what's more important..... the arrival of your sister-in-law's first baby or Silver Dollar City? You know the answer: People are ALWAYS more important than stuff or fun. Devon wasn't such an easy sell on this idea... in his words.. "But mommy, I really, REALLY want to go to Silver Dollar City." Ella didn't even think twice about not going. It was a no brainer for everyone but Devon. Sorry dude, there's always next year.

We did get to stay 1 night at a really cool resort called Castle Rock. It had an indoor waterpark and bunk beds in the hotel room.

Chase has ARRIVED!!

David's sister, Kara, had her sweet baby boy on Saturday, May 16th around 3pm. He weighed 8 lbs and 2 oz.
Baby Chase is still on oxygen, but is expected to come home in the next few days.

Congratulations Danny and Kara!!!

Mother's Day

We dedicated Ella, Devon, and Leah to the Lord on Mother's Day. Isn't that the coolest Mother's Day gift ever??? I thought so.

Then I ate chocolate.... the 2nd best Mother's Day gift EVER!

Graduation...

It's Graduation time... Ella that is!

Preschool performances by both Devon and Ella ushered in the anticipated graduation.

Devon made faces and posed for camera shots, but never once sang a song. Oh well, maybe next year.

Can you find Ella?

The Proud Graduate

I can't wait to compare this picture to her High School Graduation someday.... uhh, maybe I can wait.

The Dentist

A brave Ella (with 3 cavaties) came home with 3 pink fillings.
