Chef Dev'on
The kids and I like to cook together. We've attempted cookies, candies, casseroles, breads, salads, and TODAY.... Eggplant Gratin. The recipe is from Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa. I just love her show on the Food Network! She is so calming and self-confident while she cooks. (I envy her composure.)

The Fourth (well, 3rd) of July
We had decided in advance that our Family Fourth Celebration would be on Saturday the 3rd this year. Too bad it rained all day! :(
We STILL had our annual cook-out, thank goodness! (Dad, the husbands, and boys pulled the grill in the garage and grilled up some mean dogs and burgers!)
The rain let up around 7ish, so we headed over to Sam and Beth's house for the show.

Leah and Ella went crazy over my friend, Julie's, kittens! I must admit, they were pretty darn cute!!!

I found a neat Keebler cookie making kit last time I was at Garden Ridge. We love fun edible crafts!
